Setpoint counts and logs weightlifting reps from wrist motion on Apple Watch. This policy explains what the app handles and where that information stays.
Setpoint has no server. The app contains no networking code. Your workout history, plans, and settings are stored only in the app's storage on your own devices. The developer cannot collect or read them by any means.
| Information | Purpose | Where it is stored |
|---|---|---|
| Wrist motion (accelerometer, gyroscope) | Real-time computation to count reps | Not stored. Discarded when the set ends — see "Reporting a problem" below |
| Workout records (exercise, sets, reps, weight, time) | Showing your history and trends | App storage on your device |
| Plans, favorites, settings | App behavior | App storage on your device |
| Photos you choose | Used only as a share-card background | Not stored. Used only while composing the card |
While counting a set on Apple Watch, the app starts a workout session. This exists so the sensors keep running when you lower your wrist, which is how watchOS requires it to be done.
The session is not saved to the Health app. The app calls discardWorkout() when the session ends. The only HealthKit permission the app requests is the workout session type; it does not request or read heart rate, body measurements, step counts, or any other health data.
Reporting a problem from the app opens a draft in your mail app. The app does not send it; you do. Everything the draft contains is visible before you send, and you can delete any line first.
The draft contains the app version, your iOS version, device model, weight unit, and language setting. If you flagged a set on your Watch, that set's exercise and rep counts are included too.
Sensor data is not included by default. Only if you turn on "Attach sensor data" in the Apple Watch settings does the wrist motion of your single most recent set stay in the device's memory to be attached to a report. Turning it off clears it immediately. It is used only to see why a count came out wrong, and it never leaves your device unless you send a report.
Your iPhone and Apple Watch exchange workout records and plans with each other. This transfer happens only between those two devices using Apple's WatchConnectivity, and does not leave them.
Rest timer alerts are local notifications scheduled on the device itself. No external server is involved.
Because your records live in standard iOS app storage, they are included in your device backup if you have backups enabled. That is how iOS handles app data generally, not something Setpoint transmits. Backups are governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Deleting the app removes everything it stored, along with it. No copy is retained by the developer.
Setpoint is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes, this page is updated and the date at the top is revised.
